Hunting Season!

SO I am officially the world's worst blogger! We are so busy around here lately that I myself can barely keep up. We shipped the calves off last week! Hoo ray! another year gone by with a good "crop". My kids are growing like weeds so I have been sifting through there closets selling stuff on eBay to make a few extra bucks. I just finished making their costumes as well. Pictures to come of those (spoiler: E3 might be mistaken for a Disney terrorist, hahahaha)And Hunting season has now kicked off.

This is some good ole' family time here on the Brown Ranch. Since the ranch is so large we get to take the kids with us when we go hunting. We are spoiled in the way that our kids are able to drive around with us while we are hunting our game. Gwen and E3 are getting very good at spotting. However sometimes their imaginations like to kick in as well and they spot so much more than just deer and antelope. Earl swears he saw a bull dozer and a combine on the side of the mountain the other day and Gwen somehow always managed to spot a Dinosaur here and there.
the picture is of one of Earl's antelope from the other day. We still have three more "prong horn" tags to fill an one Elk. Yes, the elk tag is mine! I am so excited!

pictures didn't post! So here they are.

just a fun pic

Ok I think I might be the worlds worst blogger, but here are a few new pics. I know it has been forever since I posted. Sorry.

we have been busy around here finally getting to hay now that the weather decided to stop raining for a few days. However with no rain you get hot, hot, hot. But it is good for the ranch and what needs to be done around here.

This feet picture was taken by my husband. He just got a weird itch and wanted a pic of all of our feet.

The cat is our newest member to the family. Meet Rosie, everybody. Earl caught this kitten a couple of weeks ago. it is one of those crazy cats that likes to randomly attack everything. Your head in the middle of the night, your leg as you walk through the house, your hand if you even slightly move it. She is crazy! Really cute with her little bobbed tail. She wags it like a dog. She will also play with a ball like a dog. The kids love her and she is a great addition to our little family.

Muttin' Bustin'!

fourth of july was spent at teh Cleveland Ranch Rodeo, as is tradition. However, Earl could not participate this year because of a ligament injury in his hand that led to a doctors visit and then surgery. But Gwen and Earl got to ride sheep for the first time. The pictures say it all...Gwen loved it....Earl was terrified to death! hahahaha I can't wait to show him this picture when he is older, and riding broncs (maybe?). However Earl thoroughly enjoyed the boot race, Gwen did too.

OOPS I forgot to upload the pics.

A wedding!

Gwen, Earl, Medium Earl, and Steve all had a chance to participate in a wedding a couple of weekends ago. It was Earl's good friend Tyler who got hitched. He married Emily Evans who was a school teacher at one of the one room schools out here. The kids looked so stinking cute. Especially E3 in his little tux with tails! I was a fun day and I hope you all enjoy the pictures.

Branding Season

it is branding season and My children are thrilled! Gwen recently got to brand her first calf, which she was ecstatic about. She is such a cowgirl, so much more than her mother. I thought I was a cowgirl until I moved out here and figured out what a real "cowgirl" is and that is defiantly not me. I am not nearly as tough as I should be. Any who, Gwen now lives for the branding. Every Branding we go to she jumps right in the corral ready to get to work, from branding the calves to helping me keep tally ("that one is a boy mom, and that one is a dirl"), to helping others mark after vaccinaction. Gwen is such a go getter and I am so proud of her. She even rides the calves as they get up! Earl is much more soft hearted than his sister. He is not quite ready to work with the animals. He prefers to simply chase the calves around.
